This year’s Academy Awards was a star-studded spectacle featuring some of the most talented people in the entertainment industry. Although the Oscars is one of the biggest, most prestigious award shows around, most people didn’t tune in because their favorite movies were snubbed.

If you’re one of those moviegoers whose choice flick wasn’t given a golden statue, perhaps you’ll settle for a golden bucket of popcorn? MTV has released the list of nominees for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards.

Some of the films have already been recognized by the Academy, including American Sniper and Boyhood. Others were fan favorites from throughout the year, such as Neighbors and The Fault In Our Stars.

In total, there are 28 nominees and 14 categories. Voting is open today through the show’s premiere on April 12th, and Amy Schumer is slated to host. If you can’t wait until the awards or are still stuck on which films to choose, here are our predictions for some of the categories:

Best Breakthrough Performance: Ansel Elgort in The Fault in Our Stars

This year, a ton of fresh faces graced us with their talent on film and their presence on the red carpet. Each one of the nominees brought something unique and enjoyable to their performance. However, if his box office success rate and influx of YA film roles is any indication, Ansel Elgort will snag the golden popcorn for this category. If he doesn’t, brace yourselves for a violent revolution from his loyal teenage female following.

Best Shirtless Performance: Zac Efron in Neighbors

This is a given. Even if you haven’t seen Neighbors, it’s impossible to say that Zac Efron isn’t flawless. The sexy actor received the golden popcorn for this category last year, and we were all reminded of why he won when heroine Rita Ora ripped his shirt off on stage. If he doesn’t win this award, there will be a violent revolution from the author of this article.

Best Musical Performance: Miles Teller in Whiplash

It’s been a big year for Miles Teller. He’s starred in several YA box office hits, including Divergent and That Awkward Moment. In Whiplash, Teller showed range and raw talent as aspiring drummer and music student Andrew.

The film has already been recognized by the Sundance Film Festival and the Academy, earning multiple awards for Best Sound Mi, Best Film Editing, and Best Supporting Actor. Although it didn’t do as well in the box office as some of his previous work, Teller will definitely snag the golden popcorn for this role. Anyone who has to deal with J.K. Simmons screaming and hitting them while playing drums until their fingers bleed deserves some kind of accolade.

Best Kiss: James Franco and Seth Rogen in The Interview

Before the film was even released, The Interview stirred up a ton of controversy. Despite the backlash, the film was still successful on YouTube and gave Franco/Rogen fans something to be proud of.

The dynamic duo has always taken their bromance to the next level, so acknowledging their undying love for one another with an MTV Movie Award is only right. Even though it technically never hit the big screen, Rogen and Franco’s lip lock will go down in history.

Movie of the Year: The Fault in Our Stars

There is some stiff competition within this year’s Movie of the Year category. Most of the films chosen have won and/or been nominated for Oscars, while others opened to record breaking numbers at the box office. However, if the logic behind the Ansel Elgort prediction rings true, then TFIOS will come out above the rest.

The John Green novel turned Hollywood smash hit has inspired lovers of all ages. Both Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort delivered genuine, heartfelt performances that sent fans of the book over the moon.
