These habits are NOT performing wonders for your hair and skin.

It’s no secret that we all have habits we know are bad for us but are hard to break. From using old products to leaving makeup on overnight, they just don’t do any good for us in the long run. Here are the three beauty habits to break to achieve flawless, natural beauty all day every day.

Not Washing Face Thoroughly

Let’s be honest. The last thing you want to do at the end of a late night is to put your hair up in a bun and wash your face. So, we assume that a good alternative is to take a makeup remover wipe and call it a day. Bad idea! Even though you wipe your whole face, you’re still leaving sections of makeup and dirt, which can cause irritation and breakouts. Take those extra two minutes and wash your face with cleanser so that you can keep your skin looking naturally beautiful.

Dirty Makeup Brushes

Made out of natural or synthetic bristles, makeup brushes are used almost daily in a woman’s life and help apply the go-to facial cosmetics. Each time the brush is applied to the face with bronzers, shadows, and foundations, it’s picking up dirt and possible left-over makeup, spreading it everywhere. Sounds gross, right? It can be hard to find the time to clean the brushes before and after you do your makeup. So next time you have a few minutes before you go to bed, clean your brushes with either soap and water, or a brush shampoo/spray you can purchase at your favorite cosmetics shop.

Skipping On The SPF

We all know that the sun damages the skin, but also makes us look like bronzed goddesses. So what do we do? Purchase facial cosmetics that have a little SPF in it. When wearing it out, you'll feel great, beautiful, and happy that you're protecting your skin. However, what many don't know is that you need seven times the normal amount found in foundation and 14 times the normal amount found in powder. You also need to apply it down your neck, not just the face or dabs here and there. Sure, SPF cosmetics give your protection that extra "umph", but just remember to have a layer of SPF in moisturizer or lotion underneath on the face and neck so that you can truly protect yourself.

Make sure you pay close attention to your beauty regimen to figure out what you can do to help better your beauty. These three tips for healthier skin are a great start to improve your beauty habits and to have you feeling and looking flawless everyday!
